Watch The Fast Bluefish And Striper Action Hi Speed Only

What a saltwater weekend! More fish than any one man can handle. The Bluefish and Striped Bass are thick as thick can be. We caught em on the sandbars/flats and we caught em in boats. We caught em on flies, plugs, rubber things, etc.. you name it and we caught em on it. What a blast. My buddy Mike invited me out on the boat with his uncle and Pete. These guys are a blast. Lots of beer, lots of soda, lots of laughs and they are all about catching fish. They will catch fish with everything and anything. We chased huge schools of bluefish and striped bass around the harbor and caught a sickening amount of fish. Several times, all 4 of us had fish on at the same time. The birds were in record numbers, just hovering over huge pods of bait. Fish, of all sizes, crashed carnivorously and caused the water to boil. When the boat was positioned directly over the fish it was like looking into an aquarium. The water was clear and I could see the fish schooling below. I threw my fly into the water and started to strip. WHAM! A good size bluefish was on my line. He fought until the bitter end. Then we hit the Striped Bass. Same deal. Fish after fish on the black clouser. Mike, Steve and Pete were throwing conventional gear and getting the fish to take on poppers. What a blast. Watching the fish chase down the popper, whack it a few times and then finally - FISH ON! A few times, I got so bored of

catching fish on the flyrod, I put it down and picked up conventional gear. I hauled out a popper and watched as the fish went bollistic behind the plug. It was fun and we all got pretty spoiled. If we went through a 5 minute period of no fish, we all got bummed out. Then, inevitably, the fish would start crashing all around us again and we were all smiles. So, needless to say it was a great weekend on the ocean. We all had so much fun and it did not matter wether a guy was fishing with flies or plugs. Everyone fished his prefered style and everyone had fun. In the end, that's really all that matters.
