The water still has not cleared up fully from Hurricane Charley. The summer rains continue in the Everglades which also darkens up the water. Bait is hard to find and is small. Finger mullet are prevelant though in the islands. The strong full moon tides this weekend and into the week may help clean up the water. Captain Aron Blaisdell has had good success this week fishing for Tarpon. Early in the week Aron guided the McGuire family on a trip into the 10,000 Islands National Wildlife Refuge. Things started slow in the am but by late morning things improved. They pulled into a creek that was loaded with tarpon. They jumped and landed numerous fish with Michael topping off the day with a redfish which gave him a backcountry slam! Nice job guys. Friday Aron fished with his girlfriend Stacey and they jumped numerous tarpon up to 40lbs.

If you have never fished the Florida Everglades, September and October are two of the best months to come down to Naples and visit us at Everglades Angler. Expect to catch Snook, Red Fish and Tarpon in the world renowned 10,000 Islands National Wildlife Refuge. Black and purple Enrico flies seem to be the flies of choice and there are plenty of wading opportunities as well as guided flat boat trips. Naples Florida is a fly fishermans paradise. You can fish beautiful crystal clear beaches all day for a wide range of fish or venture down Alligator Alley (rte 41) and strip a few flies through the everglades. When the sun goes down, things just start heating up. Find any dock lights on the intercoastal water way and they will be surrounded by snook, jacks and curious tarpon. The fly fishing is like nowhere else in the world and

there are more species of fish than you could imagine. So come on down this fall or anytime this winter. The tourists have not arrived, weather is starting to cool and the fishing is really heating up. If your looking to plan the trip of a lifetime to fish for the Silver Kings (Tarpon) give us a call and we will be happy to accomodate you.
