Fresh Water Quebec (Gaspe): Fly Fishing For Atlantic Salmon - Summary

I arrived home last night at 7 pm. The ride is through scenic country from the time you go through Cambleton to Gaspe Hbr. . We fished a 5 day package leaving a day on each end for travel. Depending on where your coming from and how many stops you make, its going to be 10 to 12 hours from Augusta Maine. That is all it takes to be in this unique Atlantic Salmon fisherie. Quebec Sporting had our liscences, water permits all ready when we arrived at our accomadations, which they also arranged for us. You get delivered to you the water permits and advice on the pools from Quebec sporting every day or the night before. The guides are a good idea, especially if you have not fished the area before. If your an accomplished fisherman and are familiar with the area, guides are not required in Quebec. Quebec Sporting designs the package to fit your budget and personal tastes. We hooked up to 11 fish and tailed 5. This was a personal best for me. There were fish in every sector we fished and the area was beautiful. The waters are not crowded and some days your alone on the sector your fishing. We saw huge fish in most pools 4-5 feet in length and huge. When they broke water they were amazing, especially if

their hooked and they start jumping. I will be there in June and September 2005. Early water draw is in November and it is suggested that you call them in October for June water. Great place and great people.
