Fresh Water Christmas Day Spectacular!

We woke up at 4:00 am Christmas morning to find out what Santa had brought, but all I was thinking was I bet that no one would be on the river today. I mean it's Christmas, and it's -10 degrees out. Only one problem, getting my Mom and Dad to go. So we went to church, cause theres no way I was getting out of that, and I just sat there and dremt. So we get home and I ask, and my parents being as cool as they are said why not. So we got to the Reef and the wind had to have been blowing 30+, but it was ok. I rigged everyone up and we started fly fishing. I make

a few casts nothing, then I got one of those takes when you just know you're never going to stop the fish. Down went my indicator and down went the fish. He was just playing me. He swam to the bottom and just real slowly swam away, no way to turn him. There have been 20+ pound rainbows and browns taken out of this river and this had to be one of them. So bummer!! Then from across the river I hear my mom screaming. Wow I didn't know you could make a fish deaf but I think she did. Her 3rd fish on a fly rod. How cool! The day went on and we all caught several fish nothing to brag about, but what a great Christmas.

Very nice. This was the first year in about four years running that I did not fish on Christmas day. Too many obligations.
