Fresh Water My Best Fishing Buddy: A Fly Fishing Dog

He is always willing to fish, he stands by my side and we are absolute soul mates. I knew from the moment that I named Juneau that he would be a great dog. It is funny how a dogs name can really define their personality. I named Juneau after one of my favorite fishing places in the world, Junea Alaska. Juneau has developed into a great flyfishing dog and has a soul that is as old and strong as the mountain peeks that tower over the town of Juneau Alaska. He is still a pup at heart, so he loves to play and is very light hearted. He gets along with every dog he meets, but if another dog gives him crap he won't back down. I started taking Junea fishing in the month of march when he was only a couple months old. He was just a little fur ball standing on a cold rock in the middle of a half frozen river. His legs would be shaking and he would stare at me with his puppy eyes wondering if I was friend or foe. Through those training and testing sessions we both developed a deep trust and understanding. He now knows that I would never leave him in the cold and I know that he will always be the type of dog that I need him to be. He truly is a very special friend to me and I love to bring him fishing. Like all good fishing buddies, hee does have some annoyances. He always wants a munchkin when I drive through Dunkin Donuts, a cheese burger at McDonalds and he always seems to be getting is toes tangles in my fly line. But I am sure, if he could talk, he could rattle of a few my annoyances. So, I let the little things slide and so does he.
