Fishing in Naples Florida for Permit.

A flat calm day in sunny Naples my son and I head out Gordon Pass to the Cuba wreck about 1 mile off shore. No GPS no fish finder just good luck we stopped the boat on top of her mast. Looking to catch some Jacks we casted for a wile when I saw a lager school of permit No luck nothing would hit our fly’s. We started up and went to the bait dock picked up 2 dozen crabs and headed back to find the Cuba again. Bingo we did it again stopped on her mast. I made a paste of crabs and live shrimp dipped the fly in the paste started to chum with the live crabs and the fish turned on. With in seconds Joey hooked up. I pulled the boat off the wreck and the battle began 20 or so minutes and we boated out 1st fish. This is me holding Joeys fish..yes he got the big one ..see Joey holding my fish ) We caught 5 fish total that beautiful day in Naples. The next time you find yourself in SW Florida go past the billion dollar estates out Gordon Pass and give it a try. Tarpon, Permit, Jacks and Snook haunt the waters in the pass and off shore Good luck see ya on the water. Joe-m
