Hot Bones And Snook Watch Video

"Dude, Greg just called, he wants to know the number of the guide we used to do the Everglades Experience video. He is planning on coming down next week and really wants to get into some fish," Jeremy says over the phone with his usual enthusiasm he always has for anything fly fishing related. Well I have the number as the first contact in my cell, and before you know it, Greg has booked a couple of days. Then the idea hits me. I should probably take my chances with this Greg character and show him how we do it down here in South Florida. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not by any means saying that I know the best ways to fly fish all the different spots and species here, but what I'm getting at is the fact that with three days to kill, and a thousand cash in your pocket, you can really have the trip of your life. All sorts of ideas then came to mind, Biscayne Bay, East Coast Peacocks, Everglades Snook, maybe a drive to Flamingo. Oh yeah, that spot in the Bahamas I was at last week sounds good. A call went out to my friends Capt. Phil and Bernard on Grand Bahama Island, and all was set, two days, followed by one day in the Glades for snook. Greg was guaranteed that even if neither of us caught a fish, he would still have the trip of a lifetime. So a few

days pass, and by this time the whole trip is set in stone, and Greg and I have talked over the phone for hours on end almost as if we grew up together and were friends for 30 years. As I packed my bags, my little red cell phone rings. "Hey Dave, Its Marc." The voice on the other end says. "Sorry for the late notice, but I was wondering if you would like to meet me in the Bahamas tomorrow for a few days of bone fishing?" "I'll be there!" I say with the excitement of an 8 year old on Christmas morning. "Ok," Marc says, "I'll meet you at the airport, everything is already taken care of." "No, I don¹t think you understand, I'm already going to be on the same island on the same days." I reply. What are the chances of this happening? The best part of it is the fact that I consider Marc a great friend met through fly fishing, but also I consider him my mentor. He put a fly rod in my hands for the first time, and I will appreciate that forever. Now I have the opportunity to fly fish with a new friend and a person I highly respect and look up to. Yeah, we all caught a bunch of fish, as you will see in the video, but when you look at the big picture, without the people we meet and the places we might be fortunate enough to travel to, all of this fly fishing would get kind of boring.
