Fresh Water Fly Fishing Life: A Fresh Start

Well I just arrived back at home in beautiful Northern California after a detour in my life to florida (I wanted to get away from the BS and old memories "ex-gf") so I moved to florida for five months. I went to go scope out the north fork of the american river and it brought back memories some good, some bad.

It seems like the world has changed for me but everything in nature still remains the same. A new start for me to say the least, still trying to cope from what I have lost but not forgotten is becoming a task of restraint to keep myself on track and not let others who have meant the

most to me in the past consume my thoughts of what life is about. Fly Fishing!

I can understand. I went to Montana after a divorce and gained a new perspective on my life; fishing those great waters taught me more in 3 weeks than I could ever learn without a 'journey'...

the coolest things...no worries, took my time, the peace and quiet...

being on the water always gives me the opportunity to see things from a clearer perspective ... the sounds of traffic, cell phones, faxes and small talk all disappear and the current worries of my life seem less .... the rivers flow and the tide comes in and goes out ... just as it did when i was a kid .... nothing has changed and i find comfort in knowing that all of my personal trials and tribulations are relatively meaningless to an environment that moves and ebbs and flows according to its own rhythms and cycles and i always realize that in the big scheme of things i am just a speck of dust in time .. and my current dilemas are equally as insignificant. everything becomes simple again .... through time i change ... my perspectives change .. my relationships change .. my friends change ... my goals change ... my jobs change ... my cars change ... my bank account changes .... where i live changes .............................................................. but the rivers, mountains and oceans remain ... and i find comfort in the simple nature of it all and in knowing that i am just as passing and fragile and insignifigant as a single leaf on a tree.

---- Great Post --- I appreciate the honesty .... good luck with everything.
