 Steelhead Synchronicity: A Silver Bullet On Black Friday

The day after Thanksgiving, "Black Friday", the malls were packed, and I was sitting on the back of my truck rigging up and getting ready for a day of steelhead fly fishing. I was more than a little po'd at myself for oversleeping and getting a late start. I was doing a slow burn when my cell phone rang. "What The Heck?" I never get reception this far up the river. I dug my cell phone out of my pocket and the screen on my phone read "Whippa." I answered the call, "Hey Dave, what's up?" I said. Dave responded, "I'm sitting here at home rigging up a new leader, are you fly fishing today?" I said, "Yah, I'm in the parking lot at the UFZ, I'm rigging up a leader too." Fast forward a couple of hours, and Waterwhippa and I are leap frogging through some
sweet steelhead runs. Thanks Whippa, I'm glad you called.
