Fresh Water Fly Fishing Adventures: Memories From Florida To Maine And In Between

2006 Fly Fishing Video

Joey's reflective fish tale inspired me to look back on last year's fly fishing journies. The past couple weeks have been tough going as far as the weather is concerned. Sub – zero temperatures coupled with near record, lake effect snow “events”, as they refer to them here. Most places in Oswego County have seen well over 100” of the white stuff over the past six days and it is still coming down at this moment. Unless you have a good pair of snowshoes Steelhead fishing is more or less a pipe dream. Being pinned down the past few weekends has allowed me the time to sift through some digital memories and bring them back to the forefront. While watching the images dance by on the monitor it threw me back in time for a spell. I could almost feel the tropical sun of the Everglades, hear the optimistic song of the American Robin on the Delaware, and feel the strong surge of a Treasure Coast albacore. The past year has been an absolute blast. I truly enjoyed seeing a ton of new water, meeting people who are just as passionate about fly fishing, catching new species and learning

different fly fishing techniques that are exclusive to a certain an region. At this point it seems like spring mayfly hatches are light years away, although I guess it is a good thing to sit back and seek a little shelter from the storm now and then.

Wow...
I've been dug into the couch, watching movies, and tying flies awaiting the end of the deep freeze...my wife and I were just researching our fishing trip to Finland this summer and I saw this new video posted...
Nice rewind Whippa!
Thanks for sharing your flyfishing flashback.
This is just what we all need to keep the fire for our sport burning while we are in lockdown mode.
Thanks bro!

Nice video Dave. This time of year is horible for flyfisherman. Videos like that help us through. Thanks for posting it. I'm going crazy. I'm thinking of heading down there in the beginning of April to get a fix. Maybe we can fish together again.

And the snow continues to fall up here too. Thanks for helping get me out of a funk. I can't wait for the snows to end. I live just north of oswego county and we seemed to be catching the tail end of whatever kept hitting oswego county. Thanks again for the video.
