Salt Water Bonefish, Tarpon, Snook, Etc.: Lot's Of Flies And Fins Down South

2006 FF South Video

2006 was a great year for fly fishing in many ways. The fliesandfins.com community grew with the introduction of fliesandfins east, west, south and north and started sharing regionally specific technical fly fishing knowledge across the globe. Weather was warmer than usual extending the fishing season in the northeast, and making the tarpon stick around longer in the south. I had opportunities to meet and fish with people that without this web community I would have never met. Certain moments both on and off of the water stand out in my mind more than others, but some of those moments were captured on film and shared with the world. It hasn't happened yet, but I am so excited to be somewhere new, and have some random angler say, "Hey, I saw you in some video on some website.". Until then I'll just keep tying, fishing, filming, typing, cutting, pasting, cropping, rendering, and all the other things that need to

happen to keep building this community.

It was an outstanding winter season of 2006...Beginning with Hurricane Wilma in the fall of 2005...huddled up on Hernando Street with Marcel and friends...to March Peacock Bass fishing, the usual and exciting trail hopping, sight fishing Snook with Capt. Kevin and the ultimate Bahamas Bonefish adventure with Bernard. I am ever thankful for the friendships I have made on flies and fins and the adventures we share and I am hoping to host more f+f friends both here in Naples and back home in Maine.

As usual, you made another great video, dave. It's always a pleasure fishing with you. I've enjoyed all the 2006 recap videos. Now, back to the vise!

sweet stuff dave ... looking forward to coming down to throw some flies around down there in 2007 ... and checking out the new digs in the bahamas ...

so cool to see the various branches of Flies And Fins mold into something of their own ... with their own unique characteristics and communities ... not to mention, whatever direction i travel with my fly rod (north, south, east or west).. i know i will be in good hands and on some killer water ....

i'm stoked to be part of flies and fins in 2007 and who knows what directions i will travel, what flies i will throw and what fins i may see .... .........

It was indeed a good year, I have been on more trips last year than ever before.
Last year was good but I bet this new year has also a lot to offer.

The trips to Denmark and Eastern plus Southern Germany are booked and with some luck Florida might be possible in fall.

It would be great to hook up with you and Marshall again in fall and do some fishing in the glades for a change.
I will make sure I bring some "guide" money this time :)
