2006 Flies And Fins Video

Fly fishing, for me, in 2006 was unforgettable. I can’t believe all the places and species of fish I was fortunate enough to experience. But, more than that, I can’t believe all of the people I met and the friends I made. I never imagined that the little blog website that Greg and I put up several years ago would turn into Flies and Fins. Seriously, I can remember when there were 3 members of Flies and Fins; Greg, me and … actually that was it. Now, it boggles my mind with thousands of members from all around the world. I am constantly amazed to see fish tales on this site from all parts of the globe by fly fisherman catching all sorts of fish. In addition to that, my closest fly fishing buddies are running their own Flies And Fins sites (west, south, east and north). The web has been an amazing thing and Flies and Fins is responsible for keeping so many old friendships strong and bringing me to places that I would otherwise probably never have had a chance to visit. Flies And Fins also never ceases to humble me. I am constantly reminded that the world has so much to offer and there are so many

fisheries and species that I may never get a chance to experience. So, Flies And Fins helps me to realize that there is no destination and that the journey is all that matters. I have had so many opportunities to fly fish with people who are great at what they do, and I have been able to share some of the things I know with them. Fly fishing with Dave down in Florida, Boz on the west branch, Jason out west, Whippa in the great lakes, Tom in Vermont, Mike and Mark in Rhode Island.. and the list goes on and on. I will always remember 2006 as the year of the Tuna. How could I forget chasing Bluefin, Albies and Bonito with Tom, Pete, Alex, Greg Snow, Austin and so many other good friends. And then there is the Northeast saltwater striper crew. Lot’s of great memories with them too. So, I would definitely say that 2006 was the best year of my life for fishing. I hope that 2007 is just as good, if not better. I hope you all enjoy the 2006 video. I tried to go through and pull some new stuff out of all of the content I had. So, if you are a friend of mine that I had a great fly fishing trip with, the only reason why some of that content is not in this video is because it was already used for a separate video previously in the year. So, this is just kind of a year end video that I put together with a lot of video content that had never been used. I hope you all like it. Good luck in 2007 everyone!

Rippin' video Jeremy! Some impressive footage in some fishy waters near home and far away.....ever expanding. I hope this year is a topper. Based on past years it will be even better. Great entertainment and tips on all the flies sites makes them the tops on the www for fly fishing.

ps. I had my best Trail Tarpon to date today and lost one 30 lb.

Really cool video Jeremy.
I liked the diversity in it. One can really tell that 2006 was a great fishing year for you.
Hope you get a 2007 that's at least as good :)

We (the fly-only crew) are planning a lot of trips this summer. Touring around Europe for 2-3 month just fishing and filming it, so we can bring a lot of new videos to our friends on the www.
- I think I have told you this before, but Fliesandfins was our main inspiration for making our own flyfishing website. That too have brought us closer to a lot of other flyfishermen (and women) around the world.

Hope the best for all members of the Fliesandfins community in 2007.. FULL FLEX !

what a great year. The winter freeze that has maine in its hands is killing me and restricing me from doing any fishing. Jeremy, thank you for a great year and a great video to reflect on

Jeremy,
Great video, it got me through the latest ice storm we've had in Massachusetts. I'm counting down the days till the ice melts out of here.
You had a great year in 2006, I hope your 2007 is even better if that's possible.

Another incredible video, and year from the looks. It was my pleasure meeting many folks from the FliesandFins community in 2006, both virtually and phisically. It is good to finally find a community dedicated to the sport that is open to sharing ideas and their experiences freely. I look forward to 2007,and fishing new water, and old favorites both virtually and phisically. I can only imagine what will grace the pages here at the end of next year? I'm sure it will entertain and amaze as always. Thanks for the killer rewind.
Slay in 07...

Well, that was fun. It looked a lot like my year, but you kicked my ass with the albies and stripers on the fly! Keep it up, no, make that, step it up this year. See you on the water.
