Nick connolly and myself headed down to connecticut from maine in mid may 2003. Fishing was slow in Maine because of cold water temps. Things were much different when we got on the Fairfield. hendricksons were hatching and the trout were feeding. The entire river was holding alot of browns, rainbows and brookies. Nick hooked into a nice brown. We really had a great trip. The Farmington River is a a beautiful trout river with picturesque pools and scenery. Definately worth a weekend trip - I am considering returning to the Farmington in the fall. I would imagine that fall fishing on the Farmington is phenomenal.
