Today I went fishing with HansF and JoopW. We where on a odyssey through the
Backcountry to look at several of our local haunts to see how things where.
The situation differed a lot from water to water, just look at the pictures below all
taken on the same day in the same general area.
Congrats to Joop who managed to catch the first fish of the season, a nice pike.
BTW I never name my favorite places by their full name hence the names
Stream X and so on
Stream D, high water but clean.
Stream X, brown soup.
At the hatchery of our fishingclub at stream X
Stream S
Joop successful at stream S. |

Yep, it's called a hatchery and if the guys catch you fishing there you will become an ornament in the local oak trees
Sometime March some of those fish will be stocked in our "other club's" water just over the border in Germany. We will be ready for them. I hope they manage to elude the fisherman so we can catch some bigger fish than was the case last season. Maybe some of the small guys from last season survived and have grown. So in a couple of weeks we will know more. |
