If you could only have a saltwater fly box with only 3 flies in it. What would those three flies be and what color?

Mine would be:

1. Clouser - Black
2. Lefty's Deceiver - White
3. EP Fly - purple and black

never heard of an "eat me" fly --- is it good in northeast as well as tropical waters???

It's a fly created by a guide down in Palm Beach who really got me into saltwater fly fishing, Scott Hamilton. It's basically a baitfish pattern with big eyes and a fat epoxy head and a super hair body. They stand up to tough fish and last a while. Real basic, but I've caught everything from snook and jacks and albies down south to blues and stripers up here, and then pike and smallmouth and peacocks in freshwater. Just a good, basic, versatile fly. The only place I know that sells them is the Ole Florida fly shop in Boca Raton, Florida.

Pete's right. An Eat Me Fly will catch fish everywhere. Here's a link the shows Scott Hamilton's original tie:

Scott's is tied on a standard J-hook like a Mustad 34007, with material on the top and bottom. Ole Florida Fly Shop's is tied on a Gamakatsu SC15 with all the material on top. Either way, this fly rocks! BTW, the other 2 flies I'd have in my box would be a Chartreuse/White Clouser and a White Polar Fiber Minnow.

Black Clouser
chartruese and white bunny deciever (seaducer)
10 inch grocery pollock fly

That Eat Me fly looks alot like the Spread Fleyes tied by Bob Pop, and also like the glass minnow popular on the Vineyard.

Good lookn' fly.
