ring ring....i say , "hello." immediately i can tell that greg is not his usual self. keep in mind i use the term "usual" sparingly Very Happy anyway, his voice is not filled with the typical tones of winter depression....instead he sounds like he just won the lottery. between the static of the self phone and his inability to stay on track due to shear excitement - all i can decipher is...."jeremy...i am going...dave ....bahamas...tons of bonefish...then...everglades..snook and tarpon....leaving...monday...will be into bonefish monday afternoon...."

i say, "wow ...and immediately my mind start conjuring ways that i can get in.." but i can't

so anyway - here is the scenario that leaves me here working on my computer JEALOUS as can be....

- Greg got in touch with dave (headrush999) - they don't even know each other except through flies and fins. Greg had enough of sitting in his house in maine and looking out over endless miles of ice and snow...he watched read about dave's bahamas bonefish adventure a couple weeks ago and then saw last weeks article/pics/vid from the everglades...he could take no more...he bit the bullett --- got in touch with dave - bought a cheap plane ticket last week and now --- they are meeting in ft lauderdale monday - hoping on a little plane to the bahamas - fly fishing hard core for bonefish for 2 days - flying back to ft lauderdale - driving to naples and fly fishing hard core for 2 days in the everglades for snook/tarpon/reds.....

way to go greg ----- that is awesome - you can rest assured that you have successfully made me extremely jealous and that i will be even more jealous next week when i am staring at a computer screen with ice and snow outside - knowing that you are tying into world class fish on the fly in shorts and a t-shirt. good luck ---

ps -- dave -- don't let greg have too much starbucks...he has the tendency to get a overly talkative Very Happy - kinda like me Very Happy - but then again you can just do what you do with me --- and let it go in one ear and out the other - -- nod up and down every now and then and make him think you are actually listening Very Happy --- have fun - can't wait to see some writing/pics/video from this exciting adventure.

Jeremy, you have just pushed me deeper into my winter depression Smile
Greg, good luck in the Bahamas and in Naples.

I talked with greg also. he is pumped. and man he needs it. the winter has not been good for him. dave when you hear Mommas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys. (which has taken on a whole new meaning since brokeback mountain) then you will know greg has found peace. all of the stresses of home are forgotten. it won't matter what the fishing results are he will be laying out line.....and singing," let them be doctors and lawyers and such."
Greg have fun. I will stay here and sulk
