|
|
From some recent writings and discussions recently encountered on fliesandfins.com, it definately sounds like the winter blues are in full force. Daydreams or nightmares or whatever you want to call them are being written about, instead of the usual success stories of time on the water. I spent 17 years in Chicago dealing with the hardships of the winter months, and every year got harder and harder until they became impossible. Pasty skin, extra pounds, the drama in life associated with being around miserable people, and oh yeah the painfully cold weather along with the thousands of other reasons to abandon that climate made me crazy. So I made the move to South Florida, and haven't had to deal with any of it for 10 years now.
The question that I have is why do people put up with it. Are the summers really that good that they offset the misery that is winter? Yeah winter has its advantages such as, uh, uh... this is where I need your help. |

Nope, hey let's all move to Florida and waste the place
A standard question to ask Florons is if they miss the change
of seasons and voila before you know it you get the horror tales
of digging out of the snow and so on.
So yes the winter has it's drawbacks but the anticipation of the
new fishing season and the change of seasons in general is
pleasant in my mind.
I would adapt I guess to Florida but it also has its ups and downs.
Just remember that nasty hurricane when the roof almost flew away
and that ***** neighbor of yours had his ****** generator running for
a couple of days.
Somebody wanted to kill that guy remember |

| Yeah that was a sweet trip, can't wait to do it again. But I don't know, those winters are brutal, and I have a lot of respect for those who survive it. |

| The summers up here are so awesome that it makes getting through the winter worth it. The key to getting through winters up here is taking them head on instead of hiding. Winters go by much faster when your hunting, ice fishing, snow boarding or just hiking instead of sitting and home and pouting. |
