A buddy of mine sent me the link to Flies and Fins as a cool place to read fishing stories. Earlier this month I decided to join. The more I log on the more it appears that most people on this site know each other, or have at least crossed paths on their favorite streams. So I figure if I'm going to post stories here, I should probably introduce myself.

I'm an editor at http://www.boatingmag.com Boating Magazine, based out of New York City, and currently live on Long Island where I chase stripers and blues around the Sound. I get down to Florida about once a month and try to take advantage of the fishing when I can. (I once bought some snook flies at the Everglades Angler http://www.evergladesangler.com in Naples and have the tee-shirt to prove it).

If you like reading about fishing when you're not on the water, check out my personal fishing blog, http://fishingjones.blogspot.com Fishing Jones. And if anyone's ever in the NYC area during the spring or fall runs, shoot me an email. I'm always looking for an excuse.

hi pete,

nice to formally meet you. this site has been awesome. it started as a couple guys from Maine who did "know each other" - but know it's infinately better because somehow the word got out to people like you and now i only know people "virtually" through meeting them on this site like you. Sometimes I even meet up with these people when I am in their area and fish with them - and that is just too cool.

It is so cool to see people get involved from all over the world. I think many of us Maine Folks thought we were the only ones who were so addicted to fly fishing. I guess not.

I loved your Bimini story. That was awesome.

PS - I checked out the magazine that you are an editor of. very cool. Coincidentally, I am getting ready to start a digital marketing advertising/portal technology project for a boat distributor down in Naples, Florida. Video/Interactive/Web based environments are gonna be HOT in 2005. Internet Advertising Marketing Budgets are up 75%!! Who knows? Maybe you might know some people who might be interested in these same services - you can see video examples of these technologies on the Simple Solutions website http://www.simple101.com
