The doldrums of summer are bearing down pretty hard here in the northeast. With the recent heat wave it is tough to find water with fishable temperatures. During these times I find that my mind starts to wander back to the mighty steelhead. It's right around the corner, can't wait.

One thing to look for is spawning salmon. Browns and Steelhead will take up positions downstream from the salmon and gobble up all the salmon eggs they can. I was able to use that to my advantage last fall. (Thanks to Waterwhippa Kranefly and Jeremy for showing me the way)
