| I was curious if anyone is heading to the SR this weekend? If so give me a shout. Right now the flow is picking up a little bit due to snow melt (600cfs). I don't see it rising much from this point on. Air temps are dropping off and a major Lake effect storm has just moved in as I write this post. 14" to 20" expected by Thursday evening. Fishing was a little slow for me again this past weekend, 16 river hours and 2 fish brought to hand. One of my buddies concentrated on the lower river and made out all right, managing a couple freshies. Spring is coming! I can't wait for the gravy days on the tribs in March and April. |

I went on Tuesday. The "man at the fly shop" said "go to the lower fly zone" .......well, he must have told the same thing to everyone else too.
Next time I'm going to follow my own instincts
I still have to get my terminal rig sorted out. I don't like "chuck and duck"
what I saw going on, I would hardly call fly fishing. |

| I know what you mean RickW. It is the difference between "Flyfishing" and "Fishing with a fly". Ever try a Spey rod up there? Lots of nice open runs with no "pool". Might be a good option. I can't wait to give it a shot this spring. |

Jason
I saw quite a few guys with spey rods that day, I'd say about one out of three, maybe.
After I finish the rod I'm working on now ( H&H IM8 2 weight), Maybe I'll put one together.
I'm starting to hear quite a bit about "Trout Spey" too. |
