Hey Guys,
Im going to Zihuatanejo over Chritstmas and i was just wondering if anyone had been fishing there. We are planning on doing a sail trip and also a rooster trip. Any recommendations for captains or info that is a must need for fishing there? Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Creekchub

I haven't been so I can't recommend any outfitters but I have rigged many sailfish set ups. By far the best set up I have found for lines in Rio Leviathan 550 grain 30 foot shooting head attached to rio powerflex core running line. You will want the .035" tropical mono core runner. Rio makes both lines with welded loops on the ends making the connections smooth and hassle free. At least 400 yards of backing (gel spun makes getting all that backing on easier). Use a butt section of .028 hard mono and albright that on the shooting head. your guide should have a preffered leader set up. For flies go to and check out their big game tube flies. They offer rigged and unrigged set ups. Most boats prefer unrigged so for hooks use the Gamakatsu S12S big game in 6/0. Oh yea, and a 14 weight rod! Hope this helps.
