Thanks an in advance for the help! |

NHTH-
Try the South Platte an area called the dream stream is about an hour and a half from Denver and holds some enormous browns and rainbows. It is a tailwater so bring your 6-7x and size 22-26's. Good luck I'll be in vail and probably fish the frying sometime. If you get that far west shoot me a PM. |

| I used to live in Colorado. Cheesman Canyon and 11 Mile Canyon are fairly close (within a couple hours) and offer excellent winter fishing. The Poudre (near Ft Collins) used to be good in winter. The Big Thompson near Longmont was also good. I would not try to fish those two up too high this time of the year. They get cold and icy. |

Don't forget the Blue in Summit County. Easy tailwater to get to about 1hr drive from Denver. You can do the Colorado Biathalon - Ski/Fish in the same day.
A sunny day in Cheeseman is well worth the trip. True Colorado experience with Big granite Boulders and lots of very tough fish. Very different fishing environment from anything in the east. I would recommend this for the overall experience including great fishing.
I'm NOT kidding about the tough part - this is as technical a fishery as any in North America.
Sounds cool doesn't it?
