Now that the dead of winter has most of the nation in an icy death grip, naturally are minds are wandering to that special place, where we slay plump trout with surface offerings. I'm not asking for GPS coordinates, just what you feel comfortable sharing. I have to go with:
Upper Delaware River

| hey whip, right river, wrong hatch.....Green Drakes hands down. Can't catch them every year no matter how hard you try and when the fish are grabbing the tails and sucking them under....maddening. |

I'd have to say the most epic and fun hatches are the caddis in June on the West Branch, the golden stones in july on the west branch, and the autumn baetis hatch on the East Outlet
Btw, Boz, if you're reading this, my name is Seneca Love, and you and my father Tim Love have been discussing a trip for the West Branch this summer! I'm stoked, and I can't wait to experience the gorge and other stretches of that gem of a tailwater that I have not experienced myself yet! |

| From a western, NY perspective, I would have to say that seeing big Hendricksons in April on my local trout stream is one great feeling! especially after such a harsh winter. Plus the trout are in their "stupid" feeding frenzy. Just a lot of fun to watch! |

bein more of a salt guy, I gotta say that the cinderworm hatch is one of the more amazing natural occurrences that i have been involved in. I got lucky this spring to find myself in a cinder-worm hatch at one of the Long Island outflows that i fish.....so many liners man.......didn't have any skin left on my thumb!

| I think I might have to go with troutman247. The trico and caddis hatch on the south platte is amazing, and the caddis hatches on the upper Ark River in CO during the late summer is nothing short of fantastic either. However, a big fan of the late afternoon caddis hatches on the East Walker river in CA. It can be epic. Great Topic. |
