Trying to get this forum going. What trips do you all have planned for this year?
Start with where you live, whats coming up in a stream near you, and finish with your planned trips with a target species. What are your goals for the upcoming year.

Mmmm...Nothing too ambitious this year...I'll likely just stay around Townsville and try to get a +1m barra on the fly (perhaps even on a 5wt Confused ) from the freshwater.

Saltwater wise...Aiming for my first golden trevally, and DECENT queenfish (+70cm) and even giant trevally (5kg). If only we'd just get the weather for it...sigh...

If all else fails, I'm sure a mate and mine will be able to take a trip into the streams at some stage and catch either jungle perches or sooty grunters on fly. Not big fish, but strong fighters in beautiful surrounds.

Owen,
Where is Townsville? Sounds like some nice fishing ops. All species mentioned are not available around here. Fat

Unfortunately, from what I can discern, Townsville's in the opposite hemisphere to most people on this site.

Townsville is located on the central coast of Queensland, Australia, along the East Coast. Generally an area described as being the dry tropics. From what I can tell, the fish species and tactics used here are very different to those used by most of the people on the forums here. Still, it's nonetheless fascinating to learn from others.

Hope this helped.

Owen
