I will be staying at Baja Joe's for the first 2 weeks of June and am looking any tips to help make my trip safe. Anything from gear to bring to where to eat without getting sick.

Thanks
Doug

Don't drink the water. Duh, probably heard that a million times but it goes further than that. Don't eat anyhting you can't peel or cook. We were crushed by cabbage. They wash it in the fields with nasty water and you can't get it out. We just got complacent and stopped paying attention. Oops leads to, pardon, poops. Ice in drinks can get you too. Most resort have filtered water and would advise you ask yours. If they do it should be ok. They don't want their patrons getting sick. Other than that keep some bribe money on hand. I like $20 in the pocket and $100 stashed. I have not had to use it in three trips but I know plenty who have. The Policia are pretty mellow but the Federallies are not. They are the ones in army fatigues and packing machine guns, avoid them. They usually get dropped off in one area and walk the roads to a pick up point. They don't mess around. Watch for jelly fish on the beach, there are plenty. No need to worry just be aware. Hope that helps. Not sure what you are after down there but there is more info at www.fliesandfinswest.com.
