In the coming weeks I would like to fish for walleye in Lake Erie. Spring would be the olny time when I could get a shot at them with a fly rod because they gather at the creek mouths to feed on the steelhead smolt going into the Lake. I am asking if anyone had any smolt patterns? I have made a few up with some rabbit strip and so forth that I will try out, and I will also try some large Zonkers in white and silver. I was just curious if anyone knew of any. Thank You.

Mike

I fished the morris minnow as found in a spring flyfishing magazine just this month and found the trout and the salmon love it! It looks real good in the water.
