Spring Albacore fishing at its best. Found many fish and bait all morning. Slick calm conditions and not another boat in site made for a super morning.

I can't figure out why my pics come out so stinkin big. I use tiny pic to put them on forums. Some turn out small, but on this site they have always been big??? I don't know.

Jeremy,
Albies always make a come back this time of year. This is my first year chasing them in the spring. My buddy in the pics has chased after them for years. Its nothing like the fall migration though. Its like finding a needle in a haystack. Very few birds, your mainly looking for breaking fish. The albacore always come through right before the Bonito do. We get Bonito everywhere on the NC coast. Popular places range from artificial wrecks off of Atlantic Beach all the way down to Carolina Beach and beyond. So in about two weeks the bonito should be here. Can't wait. We get blue fin, but not like you do. All I here about is the really big blue fin being caught off the coast. The red fish are now getting in the creeks. Stripers are on their way up the Roanoke river as we speak to spawn. Should not be long until they are up in Weldon, NC. The susquahanna flats should be going off any day now. I have heard its very muddy and full of debri. May be a late start. So...in about two weeks I won't know which way to go. Bonito on the coast, stripers in the river, stripers in the flats, or reds in the grass?? Great time of year. If you want to come down for an earlier bite, let me know, or be down here in 2-3 weeks.
Oh ya, the albies were hitting everything in their path from 3" silversides to little micro bait...some sort of larvae. All the fish we hooked threw up handfulls of the micro bai and a few large bait as well.

Jeremy,
I have not checked the weather. Not sure of the conditions on the coast. If they are good we can do it. Long run for you. Another option would be for shad on the Roanoke River in NC. Not too far from Roanoke, VA. Let me know when you get off the bird. ST
