I am leaving next friday to fish for Atlantics in Gaspe. On my return I will be crossing back into Maine at Van Buren where I will be fishing Maine for the rest of the summer. Does anyone know of any fly shops in Northern Maine that would have some gear for me to reload? Also are there any fly shops anywhere else in Maine that are highly recommended ? I will be spanning the state pretty well throughout the course of the summer. Van Buren to Portland than back up to Presque Isle. Thanks!

hey -- i am from maine ... and my home fly shop is Fly Fishing Only ... owned by Mike Holt ... right on the banks of the kennebec river ... Mike is born and raised in Maine ... and few could argue his knowledge, experience and exptertise when it comes to fly fishing in maine ... a beautiful shop .. always fully stocked .. clean .. well lit .. the entire place is wood (i think he built it?) .. a very impressive establishment .. and the best shop in maine in my opinion .. if you stop in tell mike and/or linda that jeremy sent you ..

Eldridge Bros in Cape Neddick if your gig is fish in the salt;
Fly Fishing Only if your looking at mid state trout and salmon;
The Pine Tree Store in Grand Lake Stream (not a shop per se, but they've got flies and tippet for the Stream);
Kennebec River Outfitters if your over around Bingham;
Eddie's in Bangor (it's not a traditional shop- but the prices are good);
Alvin Therieault's place on Rt 11 in Patten for more of a home grown shop approach.
There's also shops in Lincoln, Winthrop, Kittery, Bath, Portland, and a few other places.
