When I tryed to put it together the joints were too big for each other leaving a gap of around 1/4 inch. Should I take some fine sandpaper to make a tight flush fit? or is there a better way to correct this problem ? If you do anything to the rod (sandpaper) the warranty will be voided and then they will not fix it. Orvis rods usually wear in, and this is the way they are supposed to fit. I thought he meant the "female" end was to large for the "male" end, as in they were loose when put together. Sorry for the misinformation.
