I was just wondering how you tie your flies onto your tippet when using a 2 fly rig. Are they both tied directly on the line or is one tied of off a tag end. Thanks

Typically the dropper is tied in off the lead fly at the bend of the hook.

The easiest way to explain it is to tie a section of tippet around 8"-16" long off the bend of the first hook and then tie the second fly(dropper) onto this section of tippet. You can add your weight between the flies or above the first fly. By adding the split shot above the first fly, one fly will drift lower in the water column than the other which allows you to explore the general depth the fish are laying in.

Hi SteelyH
I use a rig with the bottom nymph as a "sinking bomb" tied in with a
rapala knot to increase mobility and the second fly is tied 15 inches up
on a short leader of 4 inches.
This is way better than tying in the hook bend at least here in sweden
but should work great in all waters with loads of micro curents.
Best Regards
P-A
