Hi,
New to the forum. I fish primarily salt north of Boston in Massachusetts, though over the last year I've been spending more and more time in the freshwater. Any other Mass fishers on?
Thanks,
Zach

Hi --- one of my long time trout fly fishing buddies (pete-d) lives in western mass .. he was the one who basically helped me to catch my very first trout on a try fly (after he caught about 10 that same night, i got my first ever) ... anyway, i shot him an email about your post .. he might be able to help you out .. i don't personally know anybody who knows all the western mass/berkshire trout waters better than pete ... a great friend and phenomenal dry fly fisherman ... a big delaware river addict too ... good luck .

I'm about 30 minutes east of PeteD and fish the Swift as my primary river. I'm located in Hubbardston.

Hi Zach, I live on the North Shore as well and can't wait for the stripers to start(flyfishing). I also do some trout fishing in Mass as well as Trout & Salmon in Maine, mostly around the Sebago and Rangely area.

Trying to sort out where to head this weekend to fish, but two days of rain isn't going to help much! Was thinking the Farmington but that looks pretty high right now.

Joe, where do you fish on the North Shore? I'm usually in and around Salem and Beverly harbor.

I drove over the Westfield and the Housy 2 days ago. Both were ripping pretty hard then. So I'd imagine the rain will definitely make matters worse. Schoolie stripers might be hitting shore in points south though. Always an option.

Zach, I live in Beverly. I always start early spring in the Danvers river around Kernwood bridge area. Later I move out into the Beverly cove area and fish out of my Kayak. Of course I fish all the other local spots but to be honest why drive 20 miles when the Danvers is full of fish. I have probably fished along side you if you fish the Danvers R. I'm not good at remembering names but I always remember a face. In fact I sort of remember one evening talking with a Mass teacher so it probably was you. (I assume you are a teacher) I will look for you on the river early May.

Hey, I live in Somerville. I have been all over Mass both salt and fresh. I tried the squanacook river, miller river, deerfield, and swift for fly. I generally shore cast for salt near the north river in marshfield for strippers. Have had great success in Bloody pond for bass (but have forsaken bass fishing for fly...). Let me know how your weekend fishing goes.. Headed to maine in June, looking at the penobscot river. Any info there?

Hey Gremlins,

mashberry is my home town. I did little salt there when I was a kid cause the stripers were not too common then. Now my folks moved south so I don't get back there much. Would love to see some pics of some fly caught fish from there.
