Man I hooked up with an absolute monster steelhead yesterday evening. As it was taking me deep into my backing I was following it downstream, walking along the edge of the water and the bank. I suddenly found myself falling as I stepped into a beaver slide/hole along the edge. The next thing that I knew is that I am jammed up to my ribs and I couldn't breathe for a second as the wind got knocked out of me. My ribs are still killing me and of course the fish got off!!

I could lie to you and say "oh man, that's too bad i feel so sorry for you" .. but, due to the fact that you have been hooking and catching all these steelhead lately and I have not .. I am going to be a bit more frank and honest. When I read this and envisioned you getting the wind knocked out of you, losing the fish and jammed up in a beaver hole ... it kinda gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling and on an almost subconcious level i thought to myself, "serves him right! ... nobody (but me, of course) deserves to hook and catch steelhead day after day after day after day ..."

Love it brotha!! .. keep makin' me jealous! You got me right on the verge of having to do something, anything to go and get a bend on my fly rod! ... I've been couped up for a couple weeks now and getting jammed up in a beaver hole, running down big chrome and getting the wind knocked out of me sounds like just what I need!

I have to admit I almost agree with Jeremy, that little mishap is what we consider down here a luxury problem.
Having said that I still think you deserve the Steelhead more than he does Smile

I am pretty sure a lot of people would not mind falling flat on their face battling large steelhead.

Stop making me laugh guys!! My ribs are killing me!! Very Happy Seriously, I have a free day on Friday. It's supposed to be 69 and partly cloudy, my daughter goes to daycare at 7 so I will be chroming it up until then!! I am not trying to rub it in just stating a fact.... Laughing
Just messing around. Hopefully, I'll get into some more. I had to hike almost to Lake Ontario before I found some willing participants. On my way down I saw a couple but they weren't interested in anything I had to offer.
Oh yeah...Jeremy. Reread your response...outloud...it sounds hilarious when you say that I got stuck in a Beaver Hole. Sorry, just my sick sense of humor coming out!
