Nice work boys! .. That picture of the guy with the bent rod in black/white float tube is hard core .. I often think of you guys when i am fly fishing on my little skiff someone says, "man, its rough out here." ... you guys really go the distance .. that is some serious water you guys are fishing there .. looks like some pretty big tides too from the watermarks on the rocks... nice fish and nice outing.

It was always on my wish list to fish the so called "Blokkendam" once since I am still seabass-less.
Too bad that spot will become part of a new extension of the port of Rotterdam.
But if you are so fond of Seabass is it not time to hop over to the other side of the pond and go after some serious stripers in the surf
That is still a high priority on my wish list but it always interferes with my annual trip to Florida.
But one of these days I will plant my feet on the eastern seaboard and hook a striper or bluefish...

just take the float tube across "the pond" .. now THAT would make an unbelievable fish tale!!! ...
hey - i have said it before .. any time you guys from across the pond want to come over and catch stripers etc.. i will do my best to help you out with what states to fish, spots to go to, finding cheap lodging, where to fly into etc.... marcel and others have been on fliesandfins since it started and its always been something i thought would be so cool .. to have you guys come to the united states and really help you to have a blast fly fishing over here ... i'd definately hook up with you guys too, so we could get some killer video .. you guys would have a blast!! and i know you all would totally appreciate the fly fishing. ... hey, why not come in september ... our dollar is in terrible shape which is good FOR YOU (bad for us, but good for you) ... come on over. september would be good...
Great photo's Seabass, we have to meet at the Blokkendam soon. Last trip last sunday was great. The alarm clock woke me at 03.00 and we were on the water at 04.45 am. still foggy and hazy but very tranquil.
started on the outside and soon my partner was already into a nice bass of around 20 inch. not soon after he landed two more.
The swell was high and long so after a while our breakfast started to anounce itself. Before it could escape our bellies, we went to the inside, a few hard strokes, point the kayak between a few blocks and your through. on the inside it started fishing with the flyrod, actually the only good way. On the inside I hooked 3 smaller ones on sandeels. Even smaller fish on a fly gives me so much more pleasure than a large one on a lure.
Next week probably Norway with The Noorman, if we can get a ticket. maybe after that a trip and a BBQ at the seaside.

Well Jeremy, I think it is a good plan to come over.
At work we have some rumours that we finally can expect some profitsharing allthough in my opinion hell will freeze over first
But if it happens in my lifetime than I would use those funds to get a ticket
to the other side ....
With Delta my direct destination would be NY city, that is already in Striper territory right ?
Plan B would be to alter my Florida plans and head to New England first, fish a week or so and then move on the SW Florida for another two weeks.
It is about time that I get some Striper action.

Yes, New York is definately striper alley ... you can catch them right off the runway (literally) ... but, of course that's not legal (i wouldn't imagine) ... anyway ... a plan for you might entail ..
1. fly into NY - probably cheapest in terms of international flights
2. rent a car
3. make your way up to Rhode Island area (not far at all)
4. If you came in September, lodging would be pretty cheap for the most part because the "summer" season would be over and all the kids would be back at school ... so a cheap motel within close access to all sorts of good spots would be doable
5. i would help you with the fine details, helping you find lodging .. and, of course, where to fish ... mid september would be ideal ...
