Anybody got a killer sandworm pattern. I bought some reddish orange zonker strips I was gonna try with black cone head, but I was gonna see if anyone had a better pattern?

never fish "sand" worm patterns .. mosty "cynder" worm patterns in rhode island ... they are smaller and hatch in many locations down there .. not sure if maine gets cynder worm hatches or not .. its pretty cool to fish though (it happens in the spring) and i swear it looks like a trout pond when it goes down .. cuz the worms come out of their holes and emerge to the surface and swim around on the surfact ... much like flies ...

so - the experience become one similar to dry fly fishing .. and the stripers key in on these things during the hatch ... pretty cool stuff to see at least once ... the worms are smaller in size and reddish in color ... and i would definately fish them during the hatch , but never when the hatch is not going on ..

does maine get cynder worm hatches .. i've never seen it happen here in maine? .. but, i have never really looked much for it either ... these worm hatches usually take place in the salt ponds in rhode island ... and i spend most of my time in maine at hard flowing spots in the rivers when the herring are in .. and the open ocean ..... sometiems i fish the marshes, but not as much as i used too .. and even then, it wasn't all that much ..

yeah "cynder" worms is the real name for them...but I guess maine does get some good worm hatches...I missed them this year but I thought I'd tie some for the future.

I've never seen a hatch, but I've heard people talk about them.
