OK. So my Dad gave me some great advice over the weekend. He was watching me cast a few rods on our lawn and noticed that my double haul was all wrong. Now, I've been on YouTube and other resources trying to figure out how to double haul for about a year now and have had no breakthrough until this moment. What he told me just made perfect sense and the whole thing clicked for me. He said " You can't extend your hauling arm too far on the first haul. Then there's nothing left to haul! ... Of COURSE! But no one ever put it to me that way before. Sweet. So now I know the correct mechanics of the double haul! And my DAD taught me. It got me to thinking about great advice. So the question is ... What's the BEST advice you've ever been given ( about fly fishing or not ) and by whom? Enjoy! |
