So my boyfriend is a HUGE fisherman. He fly fishes but doesn't get to do it as much as he wants. He's fly fished the heck out of Metolius River and has even fly fished the rivers near canby/portland. Our year anniversery is coming up in November and He loves to fly fish for steelhead. Does anyone know a good place to go, where I can surprise him by taking him for the weekend.
Back a few years ago my gal and I made a trip out to Bend, Oregon. Bend is a cool town and has a great charm to it. It's near some really good fishing rivers, among them, the Deschutes river that has a good run of Steelhead. There's also the Crooked river which flows out of the Bowman Dam....we fished there and had a ball with Rainbows. Really cold water there. Try researching this...
anyway, if I was your mad fisherman boyfriend, I'd really be happy to go on a drift boat adventure. I've heard good things about this outfit http://www.deschutesoutfitters.com/
Good luck and have fun.
