Fly Fishing

So here was my first experience on how the fishing was in the Baltic Sea( East Sea) in europe I think, after hearing that the area was overly fish by commercial fishing industry from the North countries like Sweden and Norway as well as Countries from the south like Germany and Denmark, this complaint came from the shore fishermens that could speak english, I figure why not go out and have a nice time trying to fly fish the Baltic Sea and maybe do a little sightseeing before I head out to the field for 45 days doing military training excercise.
After all what more can I ask for, being up near the Baltic Sea and having a chance to fish the water, heck it beats the thought of not being able to fish for 45 days.
So I check in at my Hotel in Schwerin, stayed at the Europa hotel, very nice hotel had the opportunity to sight see the town and get my fishing permit for fishing the shore lines.

check out a very nice castle surrounded by water in the city of schwerin, actually saw some Barsch(Yellow Perch) swimming in the lake as I was crossing the bridge to the castle.

Then enjoy some nice music in the town, by Local polish singers, so I thought they look Polish could be Russians, either way they had some nice songs to sing.

So the next day I went out near the Town of Wismar, and talk to some few local fishermen near the shores and on the dock to see what they were catching, the language barrier was difficult, but manage to get by with hands and arms signal, usually when I go out on a trip I'm by myself, this helps in forcing yourself to learn the language, and when you get lost, you're just sightseeing.

so the excitement got to me, went to my car got on my waders, there was too many jelly fish in the water, yeah that really creeps me out, I manage to find some old looking tourist to take these pictures, because if they decide to run away with my expensive digital camera, I knew I could at least chase them down in my Wader.

first cast into the sea, was there for a few minutes had i hit but lost the fish, i manage to land a few small fish, one look very tropical had very bright color to it's scales..probably some pet fish that was release by a local, who knows, No i didn't get no picture of it, tourist had my camera

so after a few hours of no other luck I decided to head back to my car and get out of the sun before I become a heat casualty, the fishing wasn't as great as i thought it might be, but I had a great time, will I come back to the Baltic Sea again, most definately, at a better time, need to do more research on it, but it was a spur of the moment thing and I truly enjoy it.

Nice, those so called hornhecht are seasonal visitors of summer.
Never caught one myself but they seem to be quite the jumping kind.

Spring and fall would be the times to hit the Baltic allthough nightfishing in summer can be productive from what I have heard.
The fish species to go for would be searun browns but that kind of fishing can be very tough.

We usually go for a spring and a fall trip to Denmark but unfortunately I have not set my feet on Danish soil this year.
