so i was in my shop class at my high school and i wanted to make something that i would use so i decided to make a good layered trout net so here it is

my questions are:

Does anyone know where i can get a net to use websites stores etc..?

And what would be a good waterproof cover to put on it where it wont give off any pollutants into the water??(because thats really what i want to do is kill all the fish i want to catch)

ps: still need alot of sanding so there are some rough spots

all help is appreciated

Scott

Wow Nice!! I am not sure about the waterproofing material, but a quick Google search produced this as an option for getting the netting material:

epoxy would be best to finish your net. get the epoxy used for finishing rod wrappings. there are no chemicals to speak of when epoxy is cured.

to do the finish put the net in the oven at about 175f until you can barely hold it. then put a coat of epoxy on it. as the wood cools down it will suck the epoxy in, continue putting epoxy on in the areas that have more epoxy sucked in on. once epoxy is cured wet sand then put another layer on. if it looks good to you then put wax or gun stock oil and call it good. if not, wet sand and put another thin coat on.

Good looking net!
once finished be sure to post a few pictures!
