I'm from quebec and love to go fly fishing to US river. Im going to a campground in Morrisville Vt in a week or so to fish the Lamoille river.
Any one has any comment on that river, it's my first try and would like some advise on where to fish... I prefer wadable spots... I love being right in the water...
thanks |

| The best thing for you to do is google "green mountain troutfitters" and search their website for info. I guide about and an hour and a half south from that area and when i am making personal trips up that way they are my first stop and the most knowledgable in the area. if you get a hold of them they would be more than happy to help. I am "stuck" in the adirondacks until may 15th and haven't checked vermont flows in the last few days but i am guessing that wading in the lamoille and the larger tribs maybe be a bit risky |

I already have the greenmountain site in my list but didi not know they could help me on that subject. They seam to offer lots of guiding trips and I'm more of a loner not putting much importance on making limits but more on discovering new places. Little beatifull spots that makes me feel part of nature.
Will go and see on green moountain.. |

| most places like green mtn troutfitter's will offer advice for free to a fellow fisherperson if asked with the right attitude. you dont have to the hire them as a guide. i think what wildboy is saying is ask a local takle shop/outfitter. they hear alot of usefull info in an 8 hour day, most of wich they are happy to share, no charge. |

| that is exactly what i was getting at... as a guide myself the most important thing is that people are enjoying themselves while doing what they love, it doesn't matter if the are a client or somebody i bump into at the gas station. That is the reason why we have this great website, we are passionate about fly fishing and enjoy spreading our knowledge to eachother. |

I have noted the GM adress in Jeffersonville, will certainly stop by get a few local flies anyway. Still, I thought I would contact a local fisherman on this forum. I always stop at shops anyway...
Thanks again for your reply. I'm going down sunday.
Good fishing to you. |

We are on the river right now... fished yesterday and today thuesday.
Today, we stoped at green mountain outfitters for a chat with the local. Met Chriss, who gave us plenty informations and ways around Johnson, turn left, cross the bridge turn left again type of things so we fished around Johnson most of the day and we where lucky with temperatures.
It just stared to rain now, we're back at the campsite and will fish a litle later (Chris's advised) Nice river so far, probably low but nice wading everywhere. Caught 2 small rainbows and a "bigger" one got away all around the lumberyard in Johnson. River temps are around 56F.
We 're having a nice trip so far...
Good day to you...
