I'm heading out to Nantucket for the upcoming Fugawi / Memorial Day weekend. I'm planning on bringing the sw gear along to keep myself occupied while my friends go golfing. I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on a place to do some wade fishing. I won't have a car but will probably be able to borrow a bike if needed. Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

I lived on Nantucket for a summer and did a fair amount of fishing .. but mostly just partying. We did catch a fair amount of stripers and lots of bluefish from the beaches .. I can't remember all of the names of the beaches and spots we fished and I do remember that several of the beaches would have bluefish busting while we were just hanging out. A good rule of thumb is find the jetties and focus on the island "points" (meaning the points of the island) -- Check out great point, eel point and smith's point .. you'll see other people fishing those locations - and should be able to find a fish or two ... Good luck. Hope this helps. It's not much but its a starting point for ya to start looking into and you can build from there .. and its all I can remember.

That'll be a great time! I'm going to be at the figawi but not going to the islamd. Those parties should be blast. The three points stated above are good starting points. I've only fished the island from a boat so I can't help too much. Try stopping in at a tackle shop and seeing what's up
