I will be in you this weekend.
I am wondering how the fishing (stripers) is going so far this year? If anyone has been fishing from ogunquit to kittery I would love to hear how its going up there, no need to mention any spots, just wondering how its going.
Thank you -Al |

| The stripers are definately around. I live in Portland and have been going out here and there for a couple hours after work and have gotten into some nice fish at various spots around southern Maine. This past Saturday , I was out sight fishing the flats with Capt. Eric Wallace of Coastal
Fly Angler I had several great shots on at some nice fish, but no takers. It was really cool though to hunt these fish and see these fish on the flats and cast to them ... I highly recommend it to anyone coming to Maine - as we have some amazing crystal clear water and some very nice tides (10 feet or so) which makes it a very dynamic flats fly fishing experience. The herring/alewife run is good too and I have been getting some nice fish on big flies. Boz hooked a monster the other evening .. Eric got a 36" fish on the fly and bunch of schoolies .. So, all in all - yes the fishing is good and the stripers are around in good numbers and continue to come in. Additionally, we see lots of juvenile atlantic herring on the flats -- which is a good sign. So, bring your striper flies because the fish are definately here .. and more fish continue to arrive every day. |
