Solid fish Mr Dutch buyt if you go
in the end of august or september they will weigh 2 kg more
each and fight a lot harder.
Great that you are pushing the limits.

| pretty cool! I have heard of a guy around here (NY coast) that float tubes the surf along long island in the open ocean. it would put you in some good spots, but at the same time what about sharks or getting into fierce currents? I guess if you time the tides and the surf isn't big and you aren't concerned about sharks probably not a big deal. Jeremy, we should take a float tube out on the surf board and drop it in in some of that offshore stuff. Imagine hooking up to a bluefin tuna in a float tube, now that would be truly widening the challenge gap! |

Sounds great Kory! Since you are the one who thought of it - I will give you first casts in the "zone." We could set a chum slick for tuna and sharks and whatnot .. then, I could leave you in the float tube smack dab in the middle of the chum slick and we could tie the chum bag off your right leg or something. Then, we'd really be maximizing our time. Because while you were there tending to the chum slick and prepared to cast your fly at the first sharks and tuna that showed up on the scene .. I could be a few miles away looking for surface feeds ... Great idea! Bring your float tube next trip and let me know where you want me to drop you off! I am thinking perhaps on that nice warm water break 23 miles or so offshore .. I hear there has been a good number of mako's roaming around out there ..... AND, i just had a great idea to really "widen the gap"
1. we tie a fly that looks like, well .. YOU (with flippers and black wet suit you would look much like a seal)
2. we then tow you around at 7 knots or so and use you in your float tube as a "teaser"
3. most sharks will just bump you with their nose first, sending you sky rocketing out of the water.
SEE EXAMPLE HERE
4. As soon as you were launched out of the air by the shark - I would, of course, bring you in super quick to the boat (but not so quick that shark loses interest. we would want him to be tracking you right on your flippers)
5. Then, you hop in the boat
6. We cast "the kory fly" .. and viola! we'd be hooked up
You in? |
