The Poudre River (Cache La Poudre?) that flows out of the mountains into Fort Collins was pretty good a while back. Years ago when I was an undergraduate in Boulder, the Poudre was a nearby river with quite a few cutthroats. I'll bet that it is still a good bet.

Nick - over on facebook had the following suggestion for you.

----------------------

"If you're truly limited, just try the Poudre here through town. It's
not world-class, but it's decent and convenient. Try u/s and d/s of
the Lincoln Ave. bridge, and then stop by Odell and New Belgium for
the best beer in the Rockies!"

I think the poudre will be your best bet especially if you only have a small window. There are some good fish in there but you might want to check the local reports. We just had a big system move through the state and drop a buch of snow. Could have turned things on or off. Either way have a good time Fort collins is a cool spot. let us know how you do.

Yeah had a lot of fun in Fort Collins.Didn't get to do any fishing because my girlfriend forbid me from bringing my pole with me.You know how that goes, but I plan on going out again around christmas and I am taking my pole.I will have a lot more time to fish.It is really beautiful out there. Got to see HorseTooth Reservoir. Not sure how the fishing is there.I will definitely have to try the Poudre when I go back out. Thanks for all the help guys!!!!!!

That is brutal! You need to tell her that if she loves you, then she needs to let you fish. Your fishing leads to your happiness and your happiness leads to her happiness. Very Happy

Tip from an old man. Buy the gf a fly rod. If she fishes with you, all the better, if she doesn't, keep the rod when you break up. Rolling Eyes

This post is a little late, but....I just ordered some midges from a Colorado guy. Very nicely tied flies, I'm sure he'd put you into the money fishing spots, and he's happy to procure any equipment needs y'all have.
