Sweet! I am jealous, Cozumel is a beautiful spot and it is in the middle of the warm Caribbean far away from the bitter cold northeast where I am right now. It is definitely a good place to take a trip and there is some good bonefishing there. There are also some permit, tarpon and snook. There are also reef and bluewater species if you are interested in that. I have had some customers over the years who have went down there with family and took a few days to bonefish and had very good success. I was there about 20 years ago, didn't fish but drove to the north end and saw that there were some great flats. I would contact the guys at Aquarius travel. They specialize in this area and the guys that i have talked to who have fished there with guides went with them and had a good experience. http://flatsfishingcozumel.com/ Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Alfredo-

I went down there in the middle of December. I got the same guide I had two years ago when I went there. I would highly recommend him. He speaks good english, has a good personality and the whole thing is pretty damn cheap. $300 per day, and he will feed you lunch, drinks and a few beers. He has been guiding the flats and lagoons on the North end of Cozumel for a long time.

I would recommend doing this over using a travel service or any other guide booking service. Don't bring the middle man into the equation. Those deals take a good % from the guide.

A pic from my December trip:

Enjoy yourself, you should have a good trip.

I fished with Alex's brother, Nacho. Cozumel has lots of fish. Schools of small ones and big singles. 90% wading.

Hi there,

any special flies for the due? I was there once and got some with a pink puff. The guide suggested me that yellow, brown and grey puffs, would work better with those bones. Thanks in advance, Caio.
