The bass taper line may now perform with temperatures 'as cool'. So long as you can cast and be quiet for the reds in SC are schooling but are aware of predators : anglers, birds & dolphin. Use warm weather lines here in April - October.

Ajax is correct; get a tropical line. I was in LA fishing redfish a couple years ago and it gets damn hot on the boat deck down there. If you have your line stripped out on the boat deck, it can become gummy and not easy to cast. A bonefish line works real well, lays out flies like a champ. I prefer Rio's line because of the taper and it seems a little stiffer and easier to cast in hot weather while the line is sitting on the deck of the boat.

What time of the year are you going on your trip and where? Gulf coast, east coast? Down here in Mississippi I have used a warm water bass bug line for marsh reds, but i like rio's bonefish line during the summer months around the clear water of the barrier islands. During spring and fall rio's redfish line works great around here for the shorter cast to bigger fish. Its works well when it is cool or warm but not either extrem.
