After moving out to Colorado from Michigan, I started hooking into and landing trout that I didn’t even know existed. My net was in need of replacement. I was catching fish bigger than the net and handle combined! Brodin makes a white rubberized net that is supposedly stealthy to the fish. Hence the name ghost net. The reason I bought the net was not only did it have an 18” length and a generous width, I figured with the rubberized netting that no more flies would be sucked into the soft mesh that most nets are made out of. Sure enough, this net has taken away the hassle of trying to get my flies unstuck, especially when two fly rigs are used. I also bought the float tube version, which has a longer wooden handle. It just makes it that much easier to net fish. $130 is the price for the Frying Pan Float Tube version. My only concern is the durability of the rubberized netting. Please let me know what your experience has been with the Ghost Net and if you think it was worth spending the money on it.

It was definately worth $130. The rubber netting is extremely durable, and even a small 15" length opening can support a 5lb trout! It would take alot to destroy that net.

Your fish is already hooked and scared, why would a "stealthy" net even matter?

If your hung up on looks, 130 dollars go for it.
If not buy the seperate rubber netting and use a tennis racket or something it will be WAY cheeper.

I switched to the same net a couple years ago after having a big Dream Stream rainbow freak out on me at the net before launching on an early release. Had similar experiences on the San Juan with larger fish. Since then have not had similar issues. Not sure if it is due to the net webbing or just luck. Suspect there is something to the clear netting material. I know hooks release from rubber nets much easier.
