| After living in New York for the past 3 years, I have spent quit a bit of time in the saltwater chasing stripers and the pelagics when they are around. I always see some very early season pictures of stripers but it seems not a lot of people really target them this early especially on the fly. I have fished a lot of the bays around here, but usually not until late May or early June. With the great weather we have been having lately (not for long), I would think that the water temps rising would trigger a lot of the bass to begin feeding in these back bays quite actively. Again, I have seen some pics of some early season fish most small and caught on bait but there are definitely some around. Anybody throw the fly this early for them out there? Have any success other than an odd fish here or there? |

| Yup. I love spring fishing for stripers. I'd fish a couple of Ray's flies in any marsh, preferrably in areas of stronger current. That's what I'll be doing this weekend. |
