|
|
I have fished in many places but for the past two trips i went to Turks and Caicos, just below the bahamas. I have mainly fished for bonefish their, with great succes! But i have never been able to catch snapper, under the rocks or a dock, on the flats or in the mangroves. I find them to be more picky than the bonefish.... or maybe that is just me?
If there are any experts or anyone who has caught a couple, please tell me any favourite flies or tactics, or just any general advice!
Thanks,
James |

When I catch little mangos on the fly its normally bi-catch on little clousers and such. But small shrimp flies should do the trick too I would think. One little trick you can use of to spary gulp spray on the fly or what ever smelly attractant you prefer.
But it seems like the smaller the fly the better, a crazy charlie ought to work too. Good luck. |

Thanks guys.
abcritt,
When bonefishing i normally use very simple flies. Crazy Charlies are my favourite. But remember to match your fly with the bottom you are fishing. And i would also take a couple small crabs when fishing against the mangroves.
