Hey all,
Just found my Orvis Andros "go to" shades busted. Boo.
Anyone have a favorite pair of shades that really make a difference?
Obviously polarized. Maybe anti reflective coating on inside of lenses?
Favorite color lens for freshwater streams...?
Favorite color for salt...?
Just looking for great functioning sunglasses.
Thanks! |

| Get some that you can change out the lenses depending on the amount of light. |

| Maui Jim or Revo are really great glasses but very expensive. Cost in the $200 range. But i guess you get what you pay for! |

| I just buy 2 pair of polarized sunglasses, one with amber lenses for low light and cloudy days. And one pair with smoke/grey lenses for sunny trips. I dont spend a lot of money for them, about $30 or less and they seem to work just as well as ones I've paid alot more for. I just make sure they fit well and are comfortable for long days on the water. Hope this helps ya. |

| IF YOU NEED THEM, CABELAS, AND I'M SURE OTHERS, HAVE POLARIZED GLASSES WITH THE INSERTED MAGNIFIERS, KIND OF LIKE BIFOCALS ONLY 80% OF THE GLASSES ARE JUST NORMAL. WORK REAL WELL AND ELIMINATE THE NEED TO CARRY ANOTHER PAIR OF GLASSES OR THE FLIP DOWN MAGNIFIERS FOR THOSE OF US WHO NEED READERS. ABOUT $75.00 |

There trully is a difference between cheap and expensive polarization filters in sunglasses.
Costa Del Mar's are some of my favorites.
Now I know with website forums, they have advertizers that actually pay good money to support a site, so I don't want to spam this forum, because it's not fair to the people who help keep a website running. but I found a website that sells outdoor gear, 1 item at a time, with a new item every 20 minutes. and I found out that they will sell once in a while a pair of polarized costa del mar's or Oakleys etc... for REALLY CHEAP. so definitely do your web research.
I also like having Grey lenses for River fishing or really bright conditions, as it filters out more light. Compound that with a mirror front finish for style and you got a sweet pair of glasses.
I like brown lenses for overcast days, or yellow shooting like glasses for late evening.
and I ALWAYS wear clear protective glasses for night time fishing. no need for an eyeball piercing. |

Oakley Eye patch amber polarized lenses work well for me. I have a big noggin and could not find proper size in the Costa del mar brand. They cover well around the eyebrow and cheek area. A big plus |

Rudy Project (rudyprojectusa.com) makes the best glasses that I have ever found. Check out their Sailing kit. Removable side shields, changeable lenses, floating neck strap, and GUARANTEED FOR LIFE! No questions asked. no receipt necessary.
They are the only glasses that I will wear fishing. |
