I may have a chance to fly fish there a few days this winter, and wondered if anyone here has any experience fishing that part of the world. Most of the info I have found on the web is for Marlin or inland carp and bass. Seems that the fishing for Albies and Bonito can be good, but haven't found much Intel on the subject. Anyone know the scoop on the little tuna over there?

Peter,

I have not left yet...flying there late Feb.

Looks like we are staying on Grand Canary...So looks like a 30mile ferry ride for me to get to Tenerife. Which probably wont happen since this is more of a visit family trip than a strictly fishing trip. There must be something to cast flys to on Grand Canary? Jacks or Cuda? It will be fun to get out of Maine for a week considering it was -11 when I woke up this morning Smile

There are ships from Grand Canary as well, try the harbour in Puerto Rico and talk to the skippers, they will know what to do Wink

Thanks for the info Peter...
I plan to stop in Puerto Rico and talk to the local charter captains.
I know there are some killer offshore options...Marlin, Big Tuna, Wahoo a little later into spring of the year.
I'll see what I can make happen on foot hopefully some blues, cuda, and maybe some bonito/albies... I really look forward to exploring some new water that isn't frozen! Smile
Thanks!
